Tasting Carménère: Notes of Black Fruit and Velvet
Ripe blackberries, roasted paprika, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate — a guide to the aromas and palate of our Carménère.
The Aromas
This Carménère opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, roasted paprika, and tobacco leaf, layered with subtle notes of dark chocolate and native herbs. The signature spice of Carménère — that distinctive paprika and green peppercorn note — is the grape's fingerprint, a sign of its identity and its place.
The Palate
On the palate, it is broad and velvety, offering elegant tannins and a long, contemplative finish that invites reflection. Fourteen degrees of alcohol and a structure as deep as its color give the wine gravity without weight.
How to Taste
- Look: Pour into a large glass and observe the deep, almost opaque bordeaux core fading to a garnet rim.
- Swirl: Let the wine breathe. The aromas unfold gradually — first the fruit, then the spice, then the earth.
- Sip: Take a small amount and let it coat the palate. Notice the breadth, the velvet, the way the tannins support without dominating.
- Reflect: The finish is long and contemplative. This is not just a wine. It is a ritual.
