The Granitic Soul of Maule
Deep clay and granitic soils breathe life into the vine. The Maule Valley is the old soul of Chilean viticulture.
The Old Soul of Chilean Viticulture
For long, Maule has been the old soul of Chilean viticulture. A place where deep clay and granitic soils breathe life into the vine, coaxing out their depth, elegance, and structure.
The granitic subsoil is the secret. Formed from ancient volcanic and tectonic forces, these decomposed rocks drain freely and force the vine's roots deep — sometimes meters below the surface — in search of water and minerals. This struggle produces concentration.
Clay and Granite in Harmony
The clay above retains moisture and warmth; the granite below offers minerality and precision. Together, they grant Carménère its signature: notes of black fruit, spice, and velvet.
Ocean-Kissed Climate
The Pacific's cool breezes temper the Maule sun, extending the ripening season. Carménère, a late-ripening variety, benefits enormously — the long hang time develops complex aromas while preserving fresh acidity.
It is in Maule that Carménère remembers who it was always meant to become.
